Look in the Mirror
YOU HAVE BEEN THERE time and time again; you see someone complaining about some issue they have with someone else and all you can think about is – have they ever looked in the mirror? Because you see the same issue with them that they are complaining about in others.
The more we do not understand how we are driven by our Human Nature the less likely we are to understand the need for change. Our Human Nature’s drive to be “right” all the time inhibits us from seeing our annoying issues. It is time for all of us to look in the mirror and see what everyone else already sees.
“No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change you. The only thing blame does is to keep the focus off you when you are looking for… reasons to explain your unhappiness or frustration.” Casey Stengel
The mirror is figurative. What I mean by “the mirror” is what some call a “reality check.” And be honest with yourself. Whatever upsets, annoys, or pisses you off in others you need to check in with yourself. What pisses you off in others is your first good mirror into yourself – start here.
Remember – it is not about your Identity, it is about becoming a better person.
