Defrag Your iHOS for New Year Success
The most cobbled together (and restrictive) part of your internal Human Operating System (iHOS) is your Identity. Since birth and over the years of being you, you have accumulated many Personal Identity Characteristics from various sources. You have inadvertently created a fragmented identity; this fragment identity is who we call “I.” Here is the problem and challenge regarding your Personal Identity Characteristics: your identity both defines who you are and limits you at the same time, as detailed in Only Human: Guide to our internal Human Operating System (iHOS) and Achieving a Better Life.
“If you asked me for my New Year Resolution,
it would be to find out who I am.”
Cyril Cusack
The greater your attachment is to any one characteristic, the greater the restriction on your ability to change and grow. The more you say, “I am ________,” the less opportunity you have, to be anyone else — even a different and better person. The more strongly you cling to your Personal Identity Characteristics, the more inflexible you become; the more you are repeatedly trapped by your identity, such as, by your self-interests, beliefs, and prejudices, the less likely you are to make appropriate and rational decisions and choices, and the more you are forced to defend your identity and inappropriate or irrational positions and opinions on anything you identify with.
Before you run off to make any more New Year Resolutions, address your identity – actively choose and clean-up, defrag your identity – decide on who you want and need to be into the new year and rearrange your identity. Look at your identity and each of your Personal Identity Characteristics as key determiners of your future success. Now you get to decide who you are and what you are going to allow to define you. Remember, your Primitive Soul-motivated identity is the way you are; your Angelic Soul will direct you to who you really need to be.
Happy New Year – Happy New You!!!
