Valentines Day
St. Valentine’s Day is the day dedicated to lovers. It is the one special day in the year when we buy roses, heart-shaped chocolates, mushy cards, negligées, and a night out on the town to show our love, devotion, and dedication to the special someone in our life.
“So, it’s not gonna be easy. It’s going to be really hard; we’re gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, every day. You and me… everyday.” ― Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook
A true, meaningful, and functional relationship with the person we love requires constant attention in order to maintain a strong level of intimacy. The keys to a healthy, successful, and intimate relationship or marriage is one filled with:
- Good communication
- Controlled feelings and emotions
- Balanced give and take
- Unwavering trust
- And, no guilt
This is not something you do once a year. It is something you need to accomplish every day. Each morning, when you wake, say “I Do!” Create a fresh and renewed commitment and promise just like you said on the day you committed to the relationship. Every day, with complete intent and feelings, say “I Love You!” as if it were your last day together.
I’m so grateful to have such a special woman in my life. Every night I say to my wife “I Love You” before I close my eyes. Each morning I wake up, I’m blessed to have the woman I love beside me and to have another day together, sharing our lives. And each time we part (for work, to run errands) I say to my wife “I Love You!”
Celebrate Valentine’s Day every day you can with the special someone in your life!
